Working in a school with a curriculum framework based on inquiry learning, I am confident about my inquiry pedagogy. Fortunately, what I discovered from last six months I managed to be open-minded during the process of analyzing a student inquiry and behavioral aspects that I had a significant hand in planning the library activities.
First and foremost, Inquiry and engaging students in discussions that provoke deep thinking and reading; introducing content that has students wondering and making connections. So we will be going to start series of new library activities in coming weeks but now will start with new library activity called “Becoming a Global Citizen” on next week onwards.
In-library to promote the International Mindedness and global awareness on part of the global school is an essential task for our students to know other countries which are there around them. So they can easily participate, inquire, connect with their culture, language, problems with our own and find the difference and similarities between our lifestyle with others in the world.
In my professional learning journey, the challenge now is to embed information literacy skills and processes in the context of the inquiry, because information literacy is at the core of the inquiry. Henceforth I am planning to add the importance of research process and referencing styles in this particular activity to make more effective and interesting.
